Hajoca Corporation is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Founded in 1858, Hajoca operates on principles of "Service, Integrity, Reliability." The company functions in a decentralized environment where each location, called a Profit Center (PC), is managed as a small business. J & H AITCHESON, a trade name of Hajoca, is seeking a Warehouse Associate – Shipping & Receiving for their Lorton, Virginia location. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate fulfillment of customer orders and maintaining warehouse operations. The position requires a safety and service-oriented individual with strong attention to detail.

Requirements

  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, order picking, and material handling
  • Experienced in receiving inbound shipments, verifying quantities, inspecting materials for damage, and accurately documenting receipts
  • Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
  • Ability to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred
  • Experience in a wholesale distribution, plumbing, HVAC, or industrial warehouse environment is preferred
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stocking and maintaining the warehouse.
  • Picking, documenting, and packing customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
  • Handling shipping discrepancies per procedures or forwarding appropriate paperwork.
  • Identifying nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and storing them in proper warehouse locations.
  • Completing necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Loading and unloading trucks.
  • Operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Informing immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise.
  • Ensuring security and controls are in place to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, including removing debris.
  • Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully completing required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Performing other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management.
  • Assisting with all warehouse operations as needed, as shipping and receiving duties are a primary function.
