About The Position

This position is responsible for picking parts and materials and delivering them to the proper locations. It also involves unloading deliveries of parts and materials and placing them in appropriate areas. The role operates a fork truck and involves heavy lifting.

The position requires use of hand and powered trucks, a computer keyboard and terminal, a shrink-gun, heat-resistant equipment, and protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields. The work includes physical demands such as heavy lifting and carrying of 60 pounds and over, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, walking, kneeling, overhead reaching, and standing. The work environment may include indoor and outdoor conditions, extreme cold or heat, dust, fumes, moving vehicles or objects, ladders or scaffolding, and slippery or uneven walking surfaces. The role may be self-directed and includes working in a team environment.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a fork truck, tractor, and lift truck.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and carrying of 60 pounds and over.
• Ability to perform the physical activities listed, including repeated bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, walking, kneeling, overhead reaching, and standing.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard and terminal.
• Ability to distinguish numbers and understand written instructions.
• Ability to coordinate depth perception and muscular movements simultaneously.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Hearing ability; hearing aids are permitted.
• Both hands and both legs are required.

Responsibilities

• Pick parts from various locations based on daily requirements and stage them for delivery.
• Transport parts and materials to assigned areas.
• Unload shipments of raw materials and finished goods, verify serial numbers and/or quantities, and place items in proper locations.
• Process and update inventory-control paperwork and computer reports.
• Use the F.I.F.O. (First in, first out) method.
• Complete all assigned or team duties in a timely manner.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, and hazard-free.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
