About The Position

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. This role is part-time, working Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM in a climate-controlled facility. The hourly range is an estimate and pay is determined by multiple factors including location, education, experience, skills, and internal pay equity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years related experience preferred.
  • Previous material handling experience (MHE) preferred, but willing to learn to operate MHE.
  • Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice to pick experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to consistently lift 50 lbs and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift of 5 hours required.
  • Must be ready, willing and able to work entire shift.
  • Work at heights up to 25 feet consistently.
  • Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting productivity and quality standards.
  • Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks.
  • Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area.
  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications.
  • Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution.
  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.

  • Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading trucks in the Inbound section by using a pallet jack or equivalent devices to put pallets out of the trucks.
  • Using Manhattan Warehouse Management System to check in products.
  • Following regulations to store refrigerated products if working with specialty products.
  • Storing products in warehouse locations using order picker or other devices.
  • Picking products from warehouse locations and loads into outbound trucks.
  • Cross-training in multiple departments: Inbound, Replenishment and Outbound.
  • Breaking down cases of product and operate PIT equipment to stock or replenish warehouse.
  • Utilizing voice to pick system to pick large case items with material handling equipment or to pick small unit of measure items and place on cart.
  • Ensuring high quality through attention to detail and correctly identify products by item number.
  • Organizing and segregating similar items at point of receipt.
  • Breaking down and palletizing large items to skid and wrap for shipment.
  • Packing and correctly labeling small items in boxes or bags.
  • Driving material handling equipment as required by job duty. Example equipment in the facility includes: order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider.
