Warehouse Associate II - Outbound
About The Position
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. This role specifically focuses on outbound operations, involving unloading trucks, checking in products, storing products, picking products for outbound trucks, and potentially breaking down cases and operating PIT equipment. The role also requires cross-training in multiple departments (Inbound, Replenishment, and Outbound) and ensuring high quality through attention to detail and correct product identification. The associate will also be responsible for organizing and segregating items, breaking down and palletizing large items, packing and labeling small items, and driving material handling equipment.
Requirements
- Ability to consistently lift 50 lbs and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift of 8 hours or more required
- Must be ready, willing and able to work a 12-hour shift as needed with limited to no advance notice.
- Work at heights up to 25 feet consistently
- Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast - paced environment while meeting productivity and quality standards
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- 1 - 2 years related experience preferred
- Previous material handling experience (MHE) preferred, but willing to learn to operate MHE
- Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice to pick experience highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Unloading trucks in the Inbound section by using a pallet jack or equivalent devices to put pallets out of the trucks.
- Using Manhattan Warehouse Management System to check in products. If working with specialty products, must follow regulations to store refrigerated products.
- Storing products in warehouse locations using order picker or other devices.
- Picking products from warehouse locations and loads into outbound trucks.
- Cross-training in multiple departments: Inbound, Replenishment and Outbound
- Breaking down cases of product and operate PIT equipment to stock or replenish warehouse
- Utilizing voice to pick system to pick large case items with material handling equipment or to pick small unit of measure items and place on cart
- Ensuring high quality through attention to detail and correctly identify products by item number
- Organizing and segregate similar items at point of receipt
- Breaking down and palletizing large items to skid and wrap for shipment
- Packing and correctly label small items in boxes or bags
- Driving material handling equipment as required by job duty. Example equipment in the facility includes: order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider
