About The Position

This role focuses on the movement of products throughout the warehouse using various types of Material Handling equipment. The role requires the skills and experience to operate/drive manual handling equipment in accordance with local legislation. These roles will mostly require an externally accredited qualification/licence. Typical titles include Forklift operator, Equipment Operator, MHE Operator. Performance Team handles end-to-end warehousing and distribution logistics needs utilizing our strategic network of storage facilities. Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is helpful.
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
• Ability to operate/drive manual handling equipment in accordance with local legislation.

Responsibilities

• Ability to lead and direct team efforts in a warehouse environment.
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks materials with identifying information such as labels.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Arranges product in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
• Leads a group of 10+ employees in the warehouse operation.
• Responsibilities include ability to lead, motivate and direct team efforts while informing department supervisor of problems or potential problems that require immediate attention.
