About The Position

Mutual Trading Co., Inc., established in 1926, is a leading Japanese foodservice supplier and a "Culinary Ambassador" promoting Japanese foods worldwide. We import, manufacture, and distribute over 7,000 Japanese food, beverage, restaurant equipment, and supply items. This role involves picking and assembling customer orders, completing deliveries via company truck, receiving and stocking inventory, and maintaining warehouse upkeep. The position requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction and logistics support, with the possibility of working outside normal hours for events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of general warehousing experience required.
  • Has and maintains a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Conversational level English required.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Possesses basic mathematical knowledge such as counting inventory, weight and measurement conversions, combining, etc.
  • Has strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates awareness of proper warehouse safety procedures.
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Works efficiently independently and in a team.
  • Adapts to frequent changes in assignments and workload.

Nice To Haves

  • Business level English preferred.
  • 2+ years of driving/delivery experience preferred.
  • Forklift training and/or certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Japanese foods and liquors preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Picks and assembles customer orders as indicated on the pick list.
  • Completes door to door deliveries by driving company truck on assigned route.
  • Maintains and safely navigates the Company vehicle.
  • Documents, records, and completes driver log when making deliveries.
  • Receives product deliveries and unloads delivery trucks in a timely manner.
  • Inspects received products for damage and volume accuracy and documents accordingly.
  • Accurately stocks inventory in the assigned warehouse location and rotates product inventory to maintain a First-IN, First-OUT (FIFO) food storage system.
  • Partakes in warehouse upkeep and ensures the stockroom is clean and organized.
  • Coordinates with manager and salespersons to assemble urgent deliveries to customers.
  • Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service.
  • Attends semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekend.
  • Provides logistics support for Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
