Requirements

  • Experience with driving non-CDL commercial vehicles.
  • Exposure to pulling trailers.
  • Interest in providing exceptional service in a timely manner.
  • Current Medical DOT card is preferred, and ability to obtain one prior to employment is required.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Ability to lift to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent knowledge of the local delivery area.
  • Ability to sit in vehicle for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in various climate conditions such as cold, heat, humidity for long periods of time.
  • Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl and twist for lifting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with pulling trailers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs pre-trip inspections of vehicle, equipment, paperwork, and loaded product.
  • Make deliveries to customer job sites/home offices with a company vehicle.
  • Occasionally pull trailer, secure loads, follow ODOT regulations, and other delivery tasks.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries.
  • Load inventory on truck and unload at customer job site/home office while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain a neat, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Ensures that manifests are complete and accurate.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and courteous customer service.
  • Checks in with customer via company technology at each designated account to announce arrival and serve as company liaison to customer.
  • Prepares and maintains records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate from the field with the dispatcher, customer service and/or branch logistics.
  • Work in warehouse and take direction from manager or supervisor.
  • Tasks include shipping, receiving from LTL or small package carriers, checking received product for accuracy to packing lists, stock pulling, stock put-away, and inventory counting.
  • Orders must be double checked for accuracy.
  • Proper paperwork must accompany all deliveries and shipments.
  • Receiving product requires detailed confirmation of exact product and quantities.
  • Help with freight claims.
  • Assist with inter-company transfers.
  • Additional tasks include cleaning, cutting metal products, keeping workplace clean, and other activities required in the warehouse.
  • Tasks could include climbing ladders, operating forklift, packaging product, lifting heavy items, working outside, and working indoors.
