Warehouse Associate Backup Non-CDL Driver - Addison
About The Position
Viking Electric, a leading electrical products and services provider operating throughout the Midwest and part of the global Sonepar group, is seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate Backup Delivery Driver for their Addison, IL location. This role is crucial in delivering essential electrical products to customers. The position involves daily vehicle inspections, loading materials, making local deliveries, and interacting with customers as the face of the company. The driver will also assist with unloading, building customer relationships, and performing various warehouse duties.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Be at least 21 years old
- Ability to climb into and drive delivery vehicles
- Ability to lift packages that could weigh up to 85 pounds
- Ability to pass and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- Basic math skills (add and subtract numbers)
- Basic English communication skills
- Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (training provided)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
- 1 year of related experience and/or training

Responsibilities
- Conduct vehicle inspections at the start and end of your route
- Transport and deliver products to customers with care
- Unload items such as wire, pipe, conduit, and boxes during deliveries
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations
- Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with customers
- Fill orders and issues materials and supplies per requests
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers, walking riders, reach trucks, EZGo carts, hand trucks or dollies
- Pack and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Other warehouse duties as assigned
