About The Position

The Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver is responsible for maintaining the warehouse and its contents, including loading, unloading, receiving, and providing additional branch support. This role contributes to ABCO's mission of exceeding customer expectations by ensuring goods are handled and stored appropriately, maintaining product quality and availability, and supporting branch staff to deliver high-quality customer service.

Requirements

  • Certified to operate forklift and hi-low.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Manual Dexterity – must be able to use hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating things.
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
  • Qualified applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Organize inventory for increased efficiency and processing.
  • Organize product in the warehouse according to branch manager’s specifications.
  • Handle equipment and product carefully to avoid damage.
  • Report any building maintenance issues immediately, including issues with dock doors, dock levelers, and light bulbs.
  • Perform branch loading, unloading, and receiving processes.
  • Utilize proper techniques for packaging goods and loading/unloading trucks.
  • Check in and store received product in the appropriate designated areas for stock and sold items.
  • Provide all receiving paperwork to the Branch Administrator for accuracy check and computer entry.
  • Perform stock transfers, handle returned goods (both stock and sold orders), and manage direct vendor returns (e.g., empty refrigerant cylinders).
  • Receive vendor direct shipments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of equipment and its proper utilization, including pallet jacks and other non-powered warehouse equipment.
  • Occasionally be responsible for additional branch projects, such as repositioning product in the warehouse and/or showroom.
  • Attend all mandated company functions and training programs.
