About The Position

S&S Tire, a leading multi-location regional wholesale tire dealer, is seeking to add a warehouse associate/backup driver to their team. This position involves manual labor, including lifting tires up to 150 lbs. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with frequent overtime opportunities. The role encompasses both warehouse receiver tasks and driver responsibilities for delivering products and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

Must have the desire and ability to work in a warehouse environment.
Must be able to lift and/or move tires with or without mechanical assistance.
Frequent bending, twisting and lifting.
Proper placement of received products in the warehouse.
Proper placement of shipping products in the warehouse.
Willingness and ability to operate all warehouse-related equipment.
Minimum 1 year of verifiable driving experience.
Good safety record (no more than 3 violations in the last 3 years).
Valid driver's license - in good standing.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.
Attention to detail.
Commitment to being on time.
High School diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Forklift license is a plus.

Responsibilities

Loads, unloads, checks and tallies tires to and from carriers (trailer trucks).
Selects, packs, counts, marks, palletizes tires of customer orders and places them in assigned staging areas according to the bin locator system.
Checks and verifies the accuracy of selecting, packing, weighing, marking, and counting of tires for customer orders.
Operates order picker, pallet jacks, and other equipment in the execution of duties, ensuring safety guidelines are met.
Performs required counting, tallying, and marking on related inventory control documents.
Participates in cycle and/or annual physical inventories.
Ensures safety guidelines are met by the proper palletizing, re-palletizing, and restacking of tires.
Maintains compliance with procedures and policies.
Provides excellent customer service to all customers.
Safely operates 16' to 28' box truck for delivery of products.
Makes collections from customers for merchandise delivered on a Cash on Delivery basis.
Makes a list of prospective customers along the designated route to supply the Store Manager with sales follow-up information.
Ensures good mechanical operation of the vehicle.
Performs pre-trip vehicle inspections at the beginning of each work day and immediately reports operating problems or mechanical defects to the Warehouse Manager or designee.
Completes all driver and vehicle maintenance logs.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested.
