About The Position

The Warehouse Associate 2 (General Warehouse) role provides manual and clerical inventory support in processing cartons. This role involves checking and inspecting cartons for accurate quantity and condition, preparing them for processing by applying labels, packing, scanning, sorting, and routing. It also includes entering information into inventory systems, loading, unloading, and picking as required. The position prepares merchandise for distribution by checking, inspecting, and logging data into inventory systems, and visually inspecting merchandise for disposition. Additionally, it involves stock handling tasks such as packing, unpacking, banding, assembling, sorting, routing, weighing, and moving merchandise. Some associates may also be responsible for scheduling and balancing workload, training and coaching other associates, and verifying data. Processing activities, moving cartons, checking and coding merchandise, and operating simple warehouse equipment are also part of the role. Other related manual tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow general and/or written instructions.
  • Involves the use of elementary arithmetic.
  • Familiarity with use of contemporary merchandise processing equipment (i.e. hand-held scanners).
  • Familiarity with use of warehouse equipment and inventory systems.
  • Ability to learn computer processing systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently.
  • Ability to determine which prescribed steps to take to process problem cartons and to resolve identified discrepancies.
  • Frequent lifting of 0 - 30lbs.
  • Occasional lifting of 30 - 75lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months experience in the same or related tasks is preferable.
  • Must have an Achiever rating, or higher, on your 2017 Performance Appraisal (for internal candidates).
  • Those with Policy Violations issued within the last 12 months will not be considered (for internal candidates).
  • Information regarding current family members working in the same facility must be reported when submitting the application. Failure to do so will disqualify the Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Checks, inspects, and logs data into the appropriate inventory systems to reflect the quantity and condition of merchandise received or distributed.
  • Takes necessary steps to prepare merchandise for inventory and distribution.
  • Inspects merchandise visually to determine disposition, as assigned.
  • Enters/logs appropriate data into on-line systems as required.
  • Performs one or more stock handling tasks, such as packing, unpacking, banding, and assembling merchandise.
  • Sorts and routes merchandise.
  • Weighs merchandise.
  • Moves merchandise manually from one location to another.
  • Picks, labels and scans, as required.
  • Schedules and balances workload of other associates.
  • Trains and coaches associates in basic procedures and techniques.
  • Verifies data and work of others.
  • Performs processing activities, as assigned.
  • Moves cartons from one location to another, either manually or mechanically.
  • Checks and codes merchandise and data.
  • Operates simple warehouse equipment, as necessary.
  • Performs other related manual tasks, as assigned.
