About The Position

The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and all tasks associated with the receipt, storage, shipment of product/materials used in the warehouse of an oilfield remanufacture facility.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely lift and carry 50 pounds independently
  • Must be very detailed oriented and thorough
  • Clear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third parties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with department representatives and management, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work effectively with others in a team-based environment to accomplish company goals and to identify and resolve shipping and receiving issues
  • Ability to operate hydraulic lift trucks, forklift, and other material handling equipment
  • Moderate use of a variety of hand and power tools to demonstrate a range of mechanically oriented functions
  • Ability to work on weekends and be on call after hours
  • Ability to cross train within all areas of the inventory department (Assets / Physical Inventory)
  • Must train new employees in all areas of the inventory department
  • Demonstrate clear communication skills and ability to promptly give, and follow, directions when working with others
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must live within a 1 hour driving distance to the yard

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift Certification
  • Knowledge and experience in warehousing and inventory management
  • Previous Mud Motor inventory or shop experience
  • MSD Asset Validation Experience
  • Travel to other districts as needed

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory accuracy, perform cycle counts and print inventory reports in MSD Shared Files / Oracle
  • Assist with all Physical Inventory Counting and audits (including Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Inventories)
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
  • Package and prepare materials for shipments and arrange or issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
  • Proper packing, labeling, and tagging of parts before putting away inventory to prevent misidentification and damage to parts
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, forklifts, or sorting bins
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock
  • Manage the process of unloading and loading trailers, picking up, packing, and shipping stock, tracking, and counting material and placing materials in proper locations
  • Utilize the established tools, equipment and technologies required to initiate or complete transactions related to in and outbound processes within the warehouse in Oracle
  • Complete daily forklift inspection checklist. Maintain and service warehouse equipment like forklift, trucks, and any other company equipment.
  • Driving forklifts, including narrow aisle reach
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean work environment
  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed in accordance with established regulations (e.g. OSHA, PPE, etc.)
  • Other various tasks as required
