About The Position

This role involves downstacking pallets of groceries, electronically scanning products, and rebuilding pallets according to company guidelines. The essential functions include conveying materials, sorting and placing items, counting products for distribution, recording audited amounts, and using a computer for record entry. Additionally, the role requires attaching identifying tags, loading and unloading materials, lifting heavy objects, and operating a pallet jack or forklift. Protective equipment must be used as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work without immediate supervision.
  • Regularly required to employ a full range of motion for arms, legs, neck and back requiring strength and endurance; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, pinch, grip, grasp or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, sometimes overhead or to areas of limited access, and including a full reach of 84 inches; climb or balance; bend or twist and turn; stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, or crawl; see; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 110 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision of 20/40 better eye with a field of 125 degrees, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Low risk for loss of consciousness due to neurologic, diabetic or cardiac conditions; no undiagnosed or unstable conditions; no medication effects; and potential pregnancy limits may apply.
  • Recognition of auditory sounds and signals; verbal communication and written symbols; verbal/visual analysis of information using some judgment; supervised individual work and some coordination of group work to ensure task completion.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Forklift/pallet jack certification helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Convey materials to and from designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, pallets, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Record amounts of materials as audited.
  • Use computer to enter records.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials, or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Lift heavy objects by hand or with power jack.
  • Operate industrial pallet jack or power fork lift to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Use protective equipment as required or as necessary.
