About The Position

Footprint Project is seeking a Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator to join their small, growing team. This position will maintain the Mars Hill warehouse, oversee the renewable energy fleet, coordinate logistics and procurement, and track assets across the domestic U.S., with a special focus on the Appalachia regional hub. The ideal candidate thrives in a start-up environment, is passionate about clean energy and sustainable disaster response, and has relevant experience or transferrable skills, especially in a warehouse or with fleet management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment and demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations, fleet management, and/or logistics and inventory management
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Basic Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets proficiency
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Skilled in critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving
  • Motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and excellent communicator
  • Willing and able to take direction from a supervisor
  • An interest in "building back greener" after climate disasters
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and comfort towing trailers
  • OSHA Forklift Certification
  • Background in solar (photovoltaic) technical work and/or electrical work
  • Experience operating heavy equipment or machinery
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Bilingual in Spanish or advanced proficiency
  • HAZMAT Class 9 Shipping Certification
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field
  • Salesforce or other CRM software proficiency
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Responsibilities

  • Lead Appalachia team members in maintaining an accurate and working inventory of sustainable response technologies
  • Lead the Appalachia hub in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized warehouse
  • Lead the Appalachia hub in retrieving technology assets
  • Manage the Appalachia Hub’s fleet inventory, quality assurance, and logistics
  • Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of renewable energy assets at our Mars Hill warehouse
  • Stay on top of facilities management: trash removal, restocking water, cleaning, and tidying
  • Support the New Orleans-based Warehouse & Logistics Coordinator in managing assets across the domestic U.S.
  • Inspect, maintain, and manage warehouse equipment, vehicles, and trailers
  • Liaise with vendors and manage inbound and outbound shipments
  • Keep detailed records of warehouse activities, provide status updates, and follow up on pending shipments or other initiatives
  • Oversee general warehouse maintenance, compliance, and operations
  • Ensure safe use of warehouse space and equipment and safety of staff and any visitors
  • Develop operational procedures and policies for improved tracking, receiving, and distributing of goods, and leverage volunteers to assist in these initiatives
  • Support the New Orleans-based Warehouse & Logistics Coordinator in implementing and training staff on effective, safe warehouse operations
  • Analyze logistics data to increase productivity and aid in loss prevention
  • Implement and oversee security operations for the Appalachia Hub
