About The Position

As our Warehouse & Inventory Assistant, you’ll support daily food access operations by keeping our warehouse running smoothly and safely. You will: Assist with food and supply pickups and deliveries, including Sack Supper distribution to schools and community partners Organize and maintain warehouse spaces, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency Support volunteer shifts through setup, cleanup, and facility preparation Move, lift, load, and unload food and supplies (up to 50 pounds) using pallet jacks, forklifts, and box trucks Manage inventory organization and assist with in-kind donation intake Follow and support food safety standards in alignment with ServSafe regulations Provide general program and warehouse support as needed

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A valid driver’s license (chauffeur’s license or willingness to obtain)
  • Forklift and ServSafe certification or the willingness to complete training
  • Comfort working in a warehouse, farm, and food-handling environment
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds throughout the day
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and organization
  • The ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • A desire to learn more about hunger, food justice, and community impact in West Michigan
