About The Position

The Warehouse and Delivery Driver plays a key role in safely and efficiently delivering Salt & Straw ice cream and materials across the Pacific Northwest. This entry-level position develops foundational driving and logistics skills while ensuring accurate, timely, and friendly delivery service to our shops. The role includes preparing and organizing orders, maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse and vehicle, and upholding safety and quality standards in every aspect of the work. As a front-line ambassador for Salt & Straw, this position helps bring joy to our communities through reliable service and hospitality on every route.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; CDL preferred
  • Forklift Operator Certification (or ability to obtain) required
  • Demonstrated ability to safely manage local routes, traffic, and variable driving conditions, including inclement weather
  • Skilled in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies
  • Working knowledge of DOT, local, state, and federal transportation regulations
  • General understanding of warehouse operations, equipment, and materials commonly used in a production or food manufacturing environment
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills with team members and leadership
  • Consistent commitment to safety, sanitation, efficiency, and service excellence
  • Proven ability to meet productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience as a delivery driver preferred
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Loads, drives, and unloads delivery trucks, ensuring each vehicle is properly stocked, secured, and equipped with necessary documentation and safety gear
  • Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections, including checks of fluid levels, lights, refrigeration units, and tires, and reports maintenance needs promptly
  • Prepares and organizes orders by assembling, wrapping, and labeling pallets of ice cream while maintaining accurate lot and expiration records
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in the warehouse, freezer, and vehicle interior to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Picks up and delivers ingredients, materials, and equipment for Warehouse, Maintenance, and Production teams as needed
  • Maintains accurate driver logs, inventory records, and shipment documentation in compliance with company and DOT standards
  • Communicates effectively with shop teams and the public, representing Salt & Straw with professionalism and kindness
  • Adheres to GMP, DOT, and company safety policies, promptly escalating any safety concerns, delivery issues, or inventory discrepancies to leadership
  • Participates in regular physical inventories to verify stock and support inventory accuracy
