About The Position

Framerz Prefab Solutions Ltd. designs and manufactures prefabricated wall panel systems for residential, townhome, multi-family, and mid-rise wood-frame construction throughout Alberta. We are looking for a motivated Wall Panel Designer to prepare accurate, production-ready wall panel packages from approved architectural and structural drawings. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, drafting, and working in a collaborative manufacturing environment. You will use MiTek Structure to create wall panel layouts and shop drawings while working closely with designers, estimators, production teams, engineering, and field operations.

Requirements

  • Experience producing construction, manufacturing, or structural drafting drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Strong understanding of residential wood-frame construction.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and grow technical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MiTek Structure (SAPPHIRE) or similar software.
  • Experience with wall panel, truss, or prefabricated component design.
  • Experience with residential, townhome, multi-family, or mid-rise construction.
  • Diploma in Architectural Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Candidates with strong drafting or construction backgrounds who are interested in learning MiTek are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare production-ready wall panel layouts using MiTek Structure.
  • Convert architectural and structural drawings into manufacturing-ready shop drawings.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
  • Coordinate revisions and maintain drawing documentation.
  • Identify conflicts, missing information, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Maintain drafting standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
