Requirements

  • Must be upbeat, courteous, and positive.
  • Possesses great guest relation and communications skills.
  • Proficient ability to speak, read and write English; ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers.
  • Ability to make self clearly understood by others.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
  • Ability to move food serving and preparation equipment as needed, using up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
  • Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
  • Ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, and walk over 75% of shift.
  • Ability to safely utilize kitchen equipment and recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery which may indicate operation problems or safety concerns.
  • Ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks.
  • Ability to perform tasks with due consideration for residents in vicinity and ability to cooperate and work with other employees.
  • Ability to learn basic food serving, cleanliness and sanitation requirements.
  • Must be able to adhere to our Buckner Service Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hospitality, enhance every guest experience.
  • Be able to navigate through the menu, describe featured menu items.
  • Demonstrate extensive menu knowledge.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders.
  • Be able to send orders to kitchen accurately through the point of sales system.
  • Partner with all associates to serve food and beverages in a timely manner.
  • Cash handling, including, but not limited to counting and balancing cash register.
  • Ensure all payments are processed timely, accurately, and correctly.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of guest information.
  • Responsible for all side-work duties assigned and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all dining areas, some kitchen areas.
  • Work successfully as part of a team and responsible for developing then maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers.
