About The Position

Unidine is hiring immediately for part time WAITER/WAITRESS positions. This role involves taking food and beverage orders and efficiently delivering items to dining room guests. You will greet guests warmly, take orders efficiently, and deliver food promptly while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards. The position requires a complete understanding of menu items and ingredients, advising guests on combinations, and accommodating reasonable requests. You will also communicate with back-of-the-house staff, handle cash-handling procedures, and promote a clean, safe, and neat environment. Maintaining sensitivity and confidentiality regarding guest information and promptly addressing complaints are also key aspects of this role. The dining room setup and cleanup, operation of various equipment, and collaboration with other departments for special events are also part of the responsibilities. This is a part-time position with a fixed pay rate of $16.00 per hour.

Requirements

  • Previous serving experience is required.
  • Previous assisted living experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly in the dining room and take food and beverage orders efficiently.
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally, maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests.
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients.
  • Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested and accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
  • Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
  • Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information.
  • Promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information or complaints directly to a supervisor.
  • Ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period, keeping the area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
  • Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
