About The Position

Morrison Living is hiring immediately for part time WAITER/WAITRESS positions. This role involves taking food and beverage orders and efficiently delivering items to dining room guests. You will greet guests warmly, take orders efficiently, deliver food professionally, and maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards. The position requires demonstrating complete understanding of menu items and ingredients, advising guests on combinations, accommodating requests, and noting preferences. You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed, and communicate effectively with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and accommodation of special requests. The role also includes collecting tickets, following proper cash-handling procedures, promoting a clean and safe environment, and addressing complaints or issues promptly by relaying them to a supervisor. Additionally, you will ensure the dining room is properly set up and maintained according to sanitation standards, operate various equipment, and collaborate with other departments for special events.

Requirements

  • Prior serving experience in a senior living setting required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in the dining room promptly and warmly.
  • Take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service.
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally, maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests.
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients.
  • Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested; accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
  • Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
  • Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information.
  • Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.
  • Ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period; keep area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines.
  • Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
