About The Position

Unidine is hiring immediately for part time WAITER/WAITRESS positions. This role involves taking food and beverage orders and efficiently delivering items to dining room guests. You will greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and deliver food professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards. The position requires a complete understanding of menu items and ingredients, advising guests on combinations, and accommodating reasonable requests. You will communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct orders and special requests are met. This role also involves cash-handling procedures, promoting a clean and safe environment, and addressing guest complaints promptly. You will also be responsible for setting up and maintaining the dining room, operating various equipment, and collaborating with other departments for special events. Prior serving experience in a restaurant setting is required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly in the dining room and take food and beverage orders efficiently, following established steps of service.
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally, maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Periodically follow up with guests to assist with any additional needs or requests.
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients.
  • Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested, and accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
  • Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
  • Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared.
  • Promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information or complaints directly to a supervisor.
  • Ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period, keeping the area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
  • Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
