About The Position

Christian Health has been providing quality care and services for over a century. We are seeking a part-time Evening Wait Person to join our newest Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in The Vista. The Evening Wait Person will be responsible for table service to The Vista community members living in a brand new independent adult resort-style living community. This role performs duties in compliance with established policies and procedures and in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.
  • Ability to deliver food ordered by customer in a timely manner to ensure appropriate food temperatures are maintained.
  • Ability to take accurate food orders and communicate to kitchen staff.
  • Ability to effectively utilize the Vista Point of Sale (POS) system.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and clearing of courses during service in the dining room.
  • Stocking the Server Area with supplies as per par sheets.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing tables in the Dining Room.
  • Resetting tables for next service.
  • Assisting in the Dish Area, including scraping and/or loading.
  • Delivering food ordered by customers in a timely manner to ensure appropriate food temperatures are maintained.
  • Operating and cleaning all job-related food service equipment as assigned.
  • Taking accurate food orders and communicating them to kitchen staff.
  • Maintaining the dining room in a sanitary and orderly manner.
  • Assisting in cleanup after meal service is finished.
  • Working in the dish room, scraping plates, and sorting racks of silverware.
  • Providing oversight of dining room seating to assure residents find available/appropriate table seating, offering a warm greeting and guidance and/or assistance with seating, as needed.
  • Ensuring kitchen and storage areas are clean, organized, and stocked.
  • Acting as a liaison to the main kitchen.
  • Attending staff meetings and/or reviewing and signing minutes.
  • Completing cleaning assignments, such as filling condiments and cleaning containers, putting away delivered supplies, disinfecting basins and drains, cleaning shelves in kitchen and storage areas.
  • Providing oversight for dating and discarding of all food and temperature documentation for food, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher.
  • Effectively utilizing the Vista Point of Sale (POS) system.
