About The Position

James Madison University (JMU) is accepting applications for a part-time Housekeeping Worker for the night shift working Sunday - Thursday, 10:30 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. Part-time staff can work up to 29 hours per week. JMU is a publicly funded university with a beautiful campus and a supportive community that is committed to preparing students for the future.

Requirements

• Experience performing a variety of cleaning tasks.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to clean materials containing bloodborne pathogens and ability to use strong chemicals to clean.
• A positive attitude and a desire to work together to keep the facilities of the JMU campus welcoming and beautiful are essential.
• Ability to demonstrate basic proficiency in English.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to operate buffers, scrubbers, and waxers for cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular and special cleaning of assigned areas using manual tools and power equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and auto scrubbers.
• Understand and practice all university safety procedures, particularly as they relate to equipment operation and chemical use.
• Participate in the university’s trash/recycling program.
