Wage Dietary Aide
About The Position
This position is responsible for various tasks within the Dietary department, including assembling and delivering resident trays, preparing and delivering nourishments, and assisting with food supply management. The role also involves operating dishwashing equipment, performing cleaning duties, and adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines. The Wage Dietary Aide must be able to follow instructions, read at a 10th-grade level, and perform physical tasks such as pushing/pulling significant weight daily. Cross-training in all dietary work areas is required to ensure proficiency. The position may also involve assisting the agency in emergency situations.
Requirements
- Must be able to read at a 10th grade level.
- Must be able to take and follow instructions given by supervisor.
- Must be able to push/pull 50lbs. or more daily.
- Applicants must be a citizen or national of the U.S., a Lawful Permanent Resident, or an alien authorized to work.
- Selected candidate MUST pass a criminal background check.
- Pre-employment drug screening and two TB Skin Tests are required.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of tray line operations and various diets would be a plus.
Responsibilities
- Properly and quietly assemble resident trays.
- Provide delivery of meal carts or trays to units.
- Assist with preparing, delivery and cleanup of between meal nourishment.
- Responsible for pickup of food carts and delivery to dish room.
- Assist in the receiving and storage of food supplies.
- Operate dish machine to clean resident trays.
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
- Follow Department’s safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Clean all food service delivery equipment and dishware.
- Push/pull 50lbs. or more daily.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned that are within Dietary department’s mission and as situations warrant in meeting the overall needs of the facility.
- Follows work flow sheets for all assigned tasks daily/weekly and have shift supervisor check assignments before shift end.
- Cross trains in all dietary work areas to ensure proficiency.
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
