About The Position

James Madison University's Facilities Management is accepting applications for a wage CDL driver (Institutional Chauffeur). Duties include driving JMU students, faculty, and staff using various modes of transportation, such as buses, motor coaches, sedans, vans, and SUV’s. Trips will involve weekdays, weekends, and overnights.

Requirements

• Possess a good driving record.
• Possess a commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement to drive vehicles with 16 plus passengers.
• Possess a current medical examiner’s certificate.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Able to work well with faculty and students.
• Working knowledge and experience in bus/coach operations.
• Working knowledge and experience in coach and bus components.
• Working knowledge and experience in trip routing.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent planning skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and schedules.
• Availability on weekdays and weekends, including days, evenings and nights.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
• Acceptable MVR and ClearingHouse query.
• Completion of an I-9 form and presentation of documentation of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Driving JMU students, faculty, and staff using various modes of transportation, such as buses, motor coaches, sedans, vans, and SUV’s.
• Managing trip logs and detailed reporting.
• Providing excellent customer service.
• Planning and communication.
