About The Position

The Technician B (Elec-Mech Area) performs skilled laboratory work under close supervision of senior technical personnel. Under limited supervision, perform cleaning, maintenance, and/or calibration of laboratory and equipment requiring skilled knowledge. With adequate training and supervision, perform work of an essentially repetitive nature for production of deliverable hardware. Such work shall involve moderately complex manual skills and the operation of moderately complex automated or semi-automated equipment. With limited supervision, carefully documents their own work consistent with work unit policy in hand written form or using common computer-based software. At the discretion of the supervisor, performs focused training to enable progression into higher skilled positions.

Requirements

  • Able to communicate written and verbally.
  • Able to use Microsoft office applications.
  • Able to perform manual labor and operate automated and semi-automated equipment.
  • Graduate from a 2 year technical school or applicable years of experience.
  • Requires either graduation from a two year technical school or two years of applicable experience.
  • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Performs cleaning, maintenance, and or calibration of laboratory and equipment with limited supervision.
  • Operates moderately complex equipment in the production of hardware using moderately complex manual skills with training and supervision..
  • Documents their work consistent with work unit policy with limited supervision.
  • Performs focused training to enable progression into higher skilled positions at the discretion of the supervisor.
  • Other temporary assignments at the discretion of the supervisor.
