Wafer Fab Operator - Day Shift
About The Position
Operate various pieces of high-tech equipment in a semiconductor wafer fab in Lubbock, Texas. The position requires prolonged standing for 10 to 12 hours per day. The operator must keep clear, accurate records and work with minimal supervision; recognize problems and take appropriate corrective actions; contribute to the manufacturing team; and be directly responsible for material management. The role requires reading and following instructions, using simple mathematics, maintaining accurate production records, operating a personal computer and microscope, and communicating accurately in writing and verbally. Operators must follow special dress requirements, including wearing no cosmetics, perfume, or cologne. Good dexterity and the ability to handle the product are required.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent GED; ten years of solid work history may substitute for a high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Ability to use simple mathematics and keep accurate production records.
- Extreme accuracy in data recording, transferring, and arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to operate a personal computer.
- Ability to use a microscope.
- Accurate verbal and written communication skills.
- Good dexterity and ability to use the hands for handling product.
- Ability to stand for 10 to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Must conform to special dress requirements, including wearing no cosmetics, perfume, or cologne.
