About The Position

The AFRL (Air Force Research Lab) plans and executes USAF programs in the areas of basic research, exploratory development, and advanced development. Delaware Nation Industries is currently providing technical support to the AFRL at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH. We are looking for a VTC Specialist / Audiovisual (AV) Technician with a strong understanding of multimedia equipment, AV system design and troubleshooting, meeting support, and live event AV production.

Requirements

  • Experience planning, setting up, and directing multi-camera broadcasts and/or web streams.
  • Strong understanding of audio and video routing and signal flow and troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum active Secret clearance
  • Security+ (or DoD 8570 equivalent)

  • Strong technical capability – paired with a critical eye and ear - to ensure that meetings look and sound as good as possible and flow seamlessly.
  • A desire to take ownership of our facility’s conference rooms and keep them working flawlessly.
  • Design and install new, maintain existing, and troubleshooting of AV/VTC equipment such as Cisco, Polycom, Extron, Crestron, audio DSP’s, and LED Videowalls. (not all of these but experience with VTC equipment in general. These are just some of the things we use)
  • Provide in-room support by managing and advancing slides, mixing room mics and remote audio, controlling and selecting rooms cameras, and managing Teams (or similar virtual connection software).
  • Plan and execute meetings in in-house conference rooms as well as off-site venues – providing similar high-end support capabilities to our customer regardless of locations.
  • Augment conference spaces to allow for additional capabilities.
  • General understanding of broadcasting hardware – specifically including Ross and Blackmagic multi ME switchers, Yamaha and Presonus audio mixers, Sony and Panasonic PTZ Cameras, etc.
  • Support flagship AFRL events by preparing, setting up, and executing live events with in-room and broadcast aspects.
  • Determine built-in capabilities of host venue and augment as necessary.
  • Setup and operate cameras to ensure ideal visual coverage of the event.
  • Provide microphones (or coordinate feeds from house microphones) and mix audio throughout event.
  • Operate multi ME video switcher with unique outputs to local projection systems, broadcast/webcast, and recording systems.
  • Manage playback of video clips, slides, keyable graphics, audio tracks, etc.
  • Be able to manage all the above solo or with help from less experienced volunteers.
  • Coordinate with other locations, as necessary, to ensure communications are reliable and consistent for all equipment
  • Coordinate the scheduling and booking of conference rooms
