About The Position

This is a temporary election worker position for Phase 3 of the 2026 General Election. As a Ballot Marking Device (BMD) Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting voters with the use of BMDs, performing hourly seal audits, and collaborating with the Troubleshooter to resolve any device errors. Additionally, you will support Computer Processors, manage the filing of combination forms and signature cards, and undertake other assigned duties. Successful candidates must complete BMD Assistant Training and a Simulation course, and be prepared to work 12 or more hours on Election Day.

Requirements

  • High level of computer literacy (Computer Skill Level 3)
  • Completion of BMD Assistant Training
  • Completion of a Simulation course
  • Ability to work 12 or more hours on Election Day

Responsibilities

  • Assist voters with the use of Ballot Marking Devices (BMDs)
  • Conduct hourly BMD seal audits
  • Work with the Troubleshooter to identify and resolve any errors on the BMD
  • Assist Computer Processors
  • File combo forms/signature cards
  • Able to work 12+ hours Election Day
  • Attend BMD Assistant Training
  • Attend Simulation course
  • Perform other duties as directed
