About The Position
We are looking for a Senior Agriculture Underwriter to be based in our US office. There is potential for this person to take over the role Head of North America, there is also opportunity to work on LATAM markets and contribute to worldwide agriculture strategy.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in agriculture insurance/reinsurance business
- In-depth knowledge of MPCI and Crop Hail insurance either insurance or reinsurance.
- Proven track record in underwriting, product design, and portfolio management.
- Proactive and strong problem solving mindset
- Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global specialist team, often within tight deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- Spanish language skill is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute underwriting strategy for agriculture business.
- Establish and maintain dialogues with clients and brokers in the market, and hunt for opportunities that fit Partner Re’s risk appetite.
- Travel to clients’ offices, carry out field visits and loss assessment surveys.
- Represent PartnerRe in industry bodies, participate in agriculture insurance/reinsurance conferences to build brand recognition and promote our platform.
- Monitor and report capacity deployment. Closely follow weather variabiles and climatic trends and study their impact on the agriculture portfolio.
- Collaborating with internal teams such as actuarial, accounting, claims and operations, to ensure data quality, consistency and compliance with guidelines.
