Sagent Pharmaceuticals is looking to hire a VP, Sales and National Accounts, Acute who is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies and tactical plans of the Sales and National Accounts group.  Job Summary/Overview: Responsible for the attainment of corporate sales goals in the area they are assigned. Provides analysis for assessment of incoming initiatives and opportunities and products. To continually elevate the positioning of Sagent within our customer, contracting and distribution relationships through effective use of both Sagent sales management, field sales and National Accounts department. Responsible for forecasting sales and units. Responsible for inventory control to ensure proper levels are always maintained. Responsible for developing and implementing sales and national account compensation plans. Leading the Sagent project for launching and marketing all acute care products. Responsible for profitable operations of Sagent Acute (hospital) division and achieving assigned goals. Aiding the EVP of Commercial in special projects related to business development initiatives. Leading projects assigned by the EVP of Commercial Operations.   Success in the role is measured on: Attaining Sagent sales goals Supporting Internal Forecasting Ensuring successful New Product Launches Managing the assigned sales and national accounts assets to achieve assigned goals Closely working with other senior management team members to achieve growth and profitability targets

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of pharmaceutical sales experience (5 in management role)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and a flexible team-oriented perspective
  • Able to manage by influence versus authority, manage people who are not direct reports
  • Ability to oversee multiple and competing projects in a fast-paced, changing team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills required – verbal, written and presentation.
  • Broad career progression within the pharmaceutical drug development and/or drug manufacturing industries strongly preferred with specific experience in quality, regulatory and manufacturing preferred
  • Willing to travel domestically or internationally as needed up to 50%
  • At least 15 years of pharmaceutical sales and management experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to reach decisions requiring both linear and abstract thinking
  • Must be collaborative, flexible and adaptable, able to work well with people at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Broad understanding of national sales and marketing in pharmaceutical injectables industry a plus
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop others for future growth and development
  • Bachelor’s degree, post graduate studies preferred, plus at least 15 years pharmaceutical healthcare (B2B Sales) management experience selling into hospital providers
  • Experience with GPO sales and marketing
  • Willing to travel domestically or internationally as needed up to 50%

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction for all activities of the assigned sales and national account groups.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of compensation programs.
  • Execute sales and marketing strategies, set sales strategies for their area.
  • Mentor and provide direction and coaching to team members in development of tactical plans.
  • Research and develop strategies and plans which identify sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Senior Management to develop accurate sales forecasts.
  • Develop sales and national account teams to ensure success of corporate goals with sales focus.
  • Assisting EVP of Commercial Operations to develop strategic plans to ensure corporate goals are met.
