VP, Project Management, Data Centers What this job involves: Leading the successful delivery of complex, fast-track data center and mission-critical projects. The VP, Project Manager serves as a senior project leader responsible for delivery execution, project oversight, technical coordination, and stakeholder management across assigned engagements. This role combines hands-on project execution with leadership and guidance across project teams to drive project performance, operational alignment, and consistent execution standards. This role includes leadership and development of project staff. What your day-to-day will look like: Project Delivery & Oversight Lead complex projects and own successful execution across assigned projects, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction. Generate solutions for complex project risks, escalations, and execution challenges through effective coordination and engagement of the appropriate support resources. Lead project planning, procurement coordination, financial oversight, and contract administration across fast-track or phased delivery models. Maintain strong execution and leadership across all core Project Manager responsibilities. Team Leadership & Development Lead and support project teams across assigned engagements to maintain delivery consistency, project controls, and execution standards. Provide people management including performance management, career development, workload planning, and team development. Support team growth through hiring, technical development, mentorship, and knowledge sharing. Client & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders. Lead stakeholder alignment and resolution of complex coordination, communication, and execution challenges; proactively engage senior leadership for support, visibility and escalation management. Technical Coordination, Quality & Compliance Promote and reinforce site safety requirements and safe work practices across assigned projects and teams. Ensure quality, compliance, and execution standards are maintained across assigned projects and teams. Lead coordination of complex technical and operational planning activities, including commissioning, shutdown planning, MOP reviews, and energized work coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience in data center construction, with demonstrated leadership of large-scale programs and teams.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale ($50M+), technically complex projects with demanding schedules and mission critical MEP infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and technical stakeholders within active operational environments.
  • Experience managing project financials, procurement activities, and contract execution across complex project delivery models.
  • Strong working knowledge of mission-critical MEP systems, critical power/cooling infrastructure, and commissioning practices.
  • Strong communication, coordination, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects within fast-track, high-pressure, or ambiguous delivery environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with project management, scheduling, and financial management tools.
  • Willingness to work extensively in active construction site environments (up to 80% onsite as required) and travel for projects outside the local region (up to 50% as needed).
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, CCM, CDCP®, or DCDC®.
  • Experience with design-build, EPC, or accelerated/parallelized schedule delivery models on large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with mission-critical infrastructure systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and building management systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, testing, and commissioning protocols for 24/7 mission-critical operations.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent or geographically distributed sites with notable complexity and financial exposure.
  • Demonstrated ability to recover or stabilize projects facing schedule, technical, or execution challenges.
