About The Position

SS&C is a leading financial services and healthcare technology company headquartered in Windsor, Connecticut, with over 27,000 employees in 35 countries. The company serves approximately 20,000 financial services and healthcare organizations globally. This role is for a VP of Product Management focusing on the Alternative Investments segment for Intralinks. The company is seeking a leader who will own and grow this business, aiming to double it in under three years. The position requires strategic vision, full product lifecycle ownership, and a strong understanding of the alternative investments market, including fund management, investor relations, LP data rooms, DDQ automation, and AI-powered diligence workflows. The role involves leading a team of product managers, collaborating with various departments, and owning business outcomes and P&L. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AI's impact on fund operations and diligence, and a strong go-to-market orientation.

Requirements

  • Fluency in the alternative investments ecosystem (fund management, LP/GP dynamics, fund operations, DDQ workflows, capital calls, or diligence).
  • 10+ years of product management experience.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role at a global SaaS business.
  • Experience launching products and managing their growth.
  • Genuine GTM orientation; understanding that winning market share is the job.
  • AI product experience (worked with LLMs, generative AI, or intelligent automation in a product context).
  • Proven ability to uncover unmet customer needs and translate them into roadmap decisions that create real differentiation.
  • Practices Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD) methodology.
  • Clear, direct, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write a strategy brief, run an executive review, and give a hard message.
  • Track record of building and holding teams accountable with emotional intelligence.
  • Comfortable making decisions with imperfect information.
  • Experience operating in a market with institutional clients where relationships are long, trust is slow to earn, and switching costs are real.

Nice To Haves

  • Worked early in career doing something hard and unglamorous.
  • Has a clear answer to 'what are you working on right now' that is a long answer.
  • Can describe the metric that proved their most important product success (the outcome, not the initiative).
  • Has read and internalized working-backwards thinking, JTBD methodology, radical candor, and the discipline of storytelling as a product leadership skill.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic vision for the Alternative Investments product portfolio and translate it into a disciplined, customer-validated roadmap.
  • Drive the full product lifecycle from market insight and ideation through launch, adoption, and growth.
  • Understand commercial winning strategies, not just technical aspects.
  • Lead AI product strategy for the segment, understanding the impact of LLMs, generative AI, and conversational interfaces on fund operations and diligence.
  • Own the P&L mindset, including pricing, competitive positioning, and revenue impact.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, conducting discovery with GPs, LPs, and fund administrators.
  • Lead and develop the product team, holding them accountable, investing in their growth, creating clarity of ownership, and building a results-oriented culture.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Customer Success.
  • Communicate strategy, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly across the organization.
