About the position
The VP, Product role at Cavnue is a high-impact position that involves developing and leading the company's product vision and strategy. The ideal candidate will focus on advancing the product portfolio and ensuring roadmap integrity, with a strong emphasis on performance, quality, and cost. They will also be responsible for understanding the interactions between traffic and infrastructure and devising innovative solutions to improve safety, congestion, and driving experience on Cavnue roads. This role requires a results-oriented leader who is passionate about developing products that will have a direct impact on transportation in the near term and lay the foundation for fundamental changes in the long term.
Responsibilities
- Define and develop a cohesive, user-centric product vision for Cavnue's customer groups
- Work with Automotive Partnerships and Product & Technology leadership teams to define long-term product strategy and roadmap
- Create product requirements and understand associated tradeoffs
- Support key technology build/buy/partner/invest decisions
- Build consensus on key product features and roadmap
- Independently identify significant opportunities for products or features that address core customer needs
- Define high-level product metrics and measure success
- Lead cross-functional execution planning including business cases, priorities, roadmaps, requirements, delivery plans, and solution lifecycle management
- Drive collaboration with senior management team, managers, directors, and engineers to identify and resolve technical issues
- Develop a thorough understanding of customers' operations and identify meaningful problems to solve
- Orchestrate product demos and run beta/pilot programs
- Provide insight and knowledge on the transportation and mobility industry landscape
- Represent and speak on Cavnue's behalf on product-related issues
- Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders
- Hire, develop, and lead a team of product managers and designers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, business administration, marketing, or economics
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management
- At least five years of experience in a leadership role
- Background in autonomous vehicles or transportation/mobility industry
- Deep understanding of the interactions between traffic and infrastructure
- Ability to devise innovative solutions to improve safety, congestion, and driving experience on roads
- Strong quantitative and entrepreneurial skills
- Ability to collaborate across multiple functions including Engineering, Programs & Operations, Design, UX, and Business Development
- Experience in defining product vision and strategy
- Ability to define product requirements and understand associated tradeoffs
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to identify significant opportunities for product or feature development
- Experience in developing and executing product roadmaps
- Knowledge of transportation and mobility industry landscape, including competitive market, customer needs, and trends
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders
- Experience in hiring, developing, and leading a team of product managers and designers.
