About The Position

The Vice President of Strategy serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for advancing the organization's strategic vision, growth initiatives, innovation efforts, and organizational effectiveness. This leader works across departments to identify opportunities, align resources, drive strategic priorities, and strengthen the organization's impact, financial sustainability, and community presence. The VP of Strategy serves as a trusted advisor to the President & CEO, helping translate long-range plans into measurable outcomes while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in strategic planning, business development, operations, healthcare, human services, or nonprofit management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the organization's strategic plan.
  • Partner with executive leadership to establish organizational priorities and measurable performance goals.
  • Facilitate strategy reviews and provide recommendations for adapting to changing environmental, funding, and market conditions.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to measure progress toward strategic objectives.
  • Identify emerging trends, opportunities, risks, and community needs that may impact the organization.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for revenue diversification, new programs, partnerships, and social enterprise initiatives.
  • Lead strategic assessments, feasibility studies, and business case development for new ventures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners, funders, healthcare systems, community organizations, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Support contract negotiations and partnership agreements in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve efficiency, service delivery, client outcomes, and organizational sustainability.
  • Oversee organizational project management processes for major strategic initiatives.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making through analysis, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Represent the organization at community, industry, and governmental meetings as assigned.
  • Monitor policy, legislative, and industry developments affecting aging services, healthcare, and nonprofit operations.
  • Position the organization as a leader in innovation, advocacy, and community impact.
  • Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure strategic alignment across departments.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to the CEO, Board of Directors, and leadership committees.
  • Lead and mentor teams and project leaders involved in strategic initiatives.
  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and evaluation of the department. Responsible for hiring, developing, and managing staff; setting priorities; appraising performance; and ensuring effective service delivery across the organization.
