About The Position

This role is responsible for Risk Management for the medical center, including owned physician practices. Key areas of focus include insurance renewals, claims management for Professional Liability, General Liability, Property & Auto. The position also oversees Performance Improvement, The Joint Commission Accreditation (or other accrediting organizations) inclusive of Certified Programs. Responsibilities include overseeing the implementation and utilization of Quality registries to drive performance improvement and quality of care, overseeing the Infection Control Program, and overseeing the Patient Safety Program, aligning it with Risk Management and collaborating on efforts to ensure patient and employee safety. The VP will collaborate with other Departments to drive performance on publicly reported quality and safety measures (e.g., CMS programs, Leapfrog, Healthgrades, US News & World Reports) and oversee Performance Improvement efforts to drive quality and safe care in collaboration with nursing, physicians, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or a Juris Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Five to eight years of healthcare experience dealing with serious incidents and claims.
  • A minimum of eight years of management experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of serious incident reporting and claims activity.
  • Strong understanding of laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance related to healthcare risk management including abuse and neglect.
