VP of Payments Product (AP Virtual Cards)

StavtarNew York, NY
7d$200,000 - $300,000

About The Position

Stavtar is hiring a senior product leader to own the strategy and execution of AP Virtual Card Payments, scaling virtual cards into a core revenue engine for StavPay. This role will drive the monetization of $5B+ in annual payment volume, delivering a best-in-class invoice-to-pay experience while building the underlying payments platform that supports enterprise-grade scale, controls, and reliability. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will set product direction and personally drive execution end-to-end — from defining workflows and edge cases to shipping, launching, and scaling production payments products — in close partnership with Engineering, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and issuing/banking partners. Deep experience with AP virtual card payments is required.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on experience building AP Virtual Card Payments
  • Strong understanding of B2B card economics and supplier acceptance challenges
  • Proven track record owning both strategy and execution for complex payments products
  • Experience building platform products designed for scale and partner integration

Nice To Haves

  • ERP/AP ecosystem experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QBO)
  • Experience with issuer processors (Marqeta, Highnote, Galileo, Adyen Issuing, Stripe Issuing)

Responsibilities

  • Own product strategy and roadmap, while leading execution for AP Virtual Card Payments
  • Build and ship the end-to-end AP virtual card workflow from invoice approval through vendor delivery and reconciliation
  • Design and deliver virtual card payables experiences: Single-use / limited-use cards, spend controls, expirations, MCC restrictions
  • Supplier enablement flows (email/portal delivery, secure retrieval, remittance details)
  • Exception handling (declines, partial captures, re-issues, non-acceptance)
  • Drive supplier adoption and acceptance through enablement tooling, analytics, and conversion programs
  • Build partner-ready payments capabilities including APIs, lifecycle tracking, audit trails, and reporting
  • Own monetization levers tied to execution quality: card-first mix, attach rate, acceptance, and interchange economics
  • Define shared card platform capabilities across authorization, settlement, ledgering, refunds, and chargebacks
  • Write PRDs, define edge cases, and work directly with Engineering through build, launch, and iteration
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Risk/Fraud, Compliance, Finance, and external issuer/processor partners
