About The Position

United Flow Technologies (UFT) is a platform established in July 2021 focused on investing in the municipal and industrial water and wastewater market. UFT partners with market-leading businesses to create a national provider of process, pump, automation & control, and other equipment solutions. The VP of M&A will be instrumental in building the M&A pipeline, engaging with owners of potential acquisition targets, fostering relationships, negotiating deals, and supporting the M&A team in successful transaction execution. This role requires significant travel, estimated at 30%-50% weekly.

Requirements

  • Excellent executive-level communication (in person, phone, video calls, and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Insightful big-picture perspective on value creation without losing focus on attention to detail.
  • Creative problem-solving, negotiation, teamwork, and adaptability.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Direct experience with data analysis and valuation, accounting, and corporate law.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and reach out to ownership of potential acquisition target companies that align with UFT’s strategic goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sellers and their senior management, ensuring timely, accurate, and courteous communication to manage expectations throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, the competitive landscape, and potential acquisition targets to help shape the UFT portfolio for future success.
  • Negotiate deal terms, pricing, and structuring agreements with potential sellers.
  • Assess the value, opportunity, and risk of potential transactions, focusing on company financials and operations, while being mindful of key value creation levers and risk mitigation elements.
  • Support the integration of acquired businesses to realize expected value, leveraging knowledge of the transaction process and the acquisition target's culture.
