About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic VP of Investor Relations to lead capital raising and investor engagement initiatives with Japanese institutional investors. This role will be responsible for driving fundraising efforts for -sponsored investments, leading syndication activities for existing/future Haseko LP investments, and establishing a best-in-class reporting and communication framework for Japanese investors. The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in building and executing investor strategies from the ground up, including structuring investment vehicles, designing reporting frameworks, and developing long-term relationships with key investors in Japan.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in investor relations, capital markets, private equity, debt finance or real estate investment
  • Strong network with Japanese institutional investors (e.g., banks, insurance companies, asset managers)
  • Deep understanding of cross-border investment structures and capital raising processes
  • Experience in fund structuring, syndication, and investor reporting
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese regulatory frameworks (including FIEA) related to fundraising and investor communications
  • Solid understanding of non-recourse financing structures and lender requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, including building and analyzing pro forma models
  • Strong financial literacy and familiarity with accounting/reporting standards
  • Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English (native or near-native fluency required)
  • Proven ability to build and lead new initiatives from inception

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with U.S. real estate investments (multifamily preferred)
  • Familiarity with Japanese investor expectations and reporting requirements
  • Experience working with international investment platforms or joint ventures

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital raising efforts from Japanese investors for (XXX) investment opportunities
  • Drive syndication initiatives for existing/future Haseko LP investments with Japanese institutional partners
  • Develop and execute investor outreach and relationship management strategies
  • Collaborate closely with the Tokyo headquarters as the primary liaison for investor coordination and provide regular reporting and updates
  • Ensure alignment with Tokyo-based investor relation teams on investor strategy and pipeline management
  • Develop a strong understanding of Japanese regulatory requirements, including Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA), and ensure compliant marketing and fundraising activities in Japan
  • Structure investment vehicles and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (legal, tax, accounting)
  • Work closely with the (XXX) Capital Markets Team and HNA Investment Team in executing capital raising and syndication activities
  • Establish and oversee investor reporting frameworks, including financial and operational reporting tailored to Japanese investors
  • Coordinate with the HNA Construction/Asset Management/Accounting Team to ensure timely and accurate investor reporting
  • Prepare investor materials, presentations, and due diligence responses
  • Provide strategic input on deal structuring, capital stack, and investor alignment
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with institutional investors, including ongoing communication and reporting
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, shareholders and other stakeholders including Tokyo headquarters
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time by the company
