About The Position

This position reports directly to the General Manager, with a secondary reporting relationship to the CFO to support cross-functional work. The VP of Finance is responsible for directing property-level financial functions, including all analytics, accounting, budgeting, disbursement, revenue audit, shared labor, casino/general cashiering, count room, compliance, credit, and procurement. Analytic responsibilities encompass all aspects of the operation and strategic planning initiatives. The position manages the day-to-day casino operations and supervises the Finance Department. Services may be provided to CEA as detailed and authorized in the Shared Services Agreement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, nine years of management experience in budgeting and analysis in a high volume, complex casino/hotel environment may be considered.
  • Must have five years of management experience in budgeting and analysis in a high volume, complex casino/hotel environment.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
  • Diversified finance or accounting background that encompasses many different areas and knows the financial implications of all operating decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with financial, accounting, reporting, and enterprise business systems with the ability to leverage these platforms to support financial operations, reporting, and business processes.
  • Knowledge of Workday or like financial software product.
  • Knowledgeable in planning and analysis processes and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in purchase request review and approval process procedure.

  • Certified Public Accountant and/or Masters of Business Administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes superior guest service.
  • Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
  • Oversees and is directly involved in all budgeting, forecasting and analytics including, evaluating, and making recommendations regarding marketing programs, staffing levels, capital spending, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Directs strategic financial planning efforts and business activity evaluations, i.e., reporting of P&L results on an agreed upon basis.
  • Responsible for the compilation of the annual operating budget preparation and for all financial analysis for the Cowlitz gaming facility.
  • Works closely with the Strategic Marketing department to ensure the operation optimizes the information derived from its databases.
  • Works with CFO to oversee all operations related to financial planning and analysis including financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Along with CFO, is responsible for all banking functions and bank loan compliance.
  • Works with CFO to oversee all labor analyses and ensures the effective use of shared labor and scheduling software to maximize service levels and profitability.
  • Oversees and performs ad hoc analyses based on operational trends, economic trends, or competitive developments, when necessary.
  • Works with CFO to oversee all company position requisitions to ensure that they are necessary and justified.
  • Works with CFO to oversee and ensure financial statements are fair and accurate in all material respects.
  • Oversees and works with the CFO to ensure that sound controls and customer service standards are maintained for the Player Services department.
  • Oversees the activities of the Compliance department inclusive of the Title 31 Compliance Program.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Provides financial services to CEA as specified in, and in accordance with, the Shared Services Agreement.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Works with the corporate team on various projects/opportunities.
  • Enforces the privacy rules pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Serves as a member of a variety of Committees.
  • Responsible for enforcing corporate governance practices pursuant to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
