About The Position

The VP of Financial Operations serves as the senior accounting leader responsible for the integrity of the Company's financial operations, reporting, and governance framework. This role maximizes the return on the Company's financial assets through the establishment and management of effective financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems. The VP of Financial Operations leads all accounting functions, ensuring the delivery of accurate and reliable financial information, maintaining a strong control environment, and supporting the Company's strategic and operational objectives. As a key member of the finance leadership team, this position partners closely with the Chief Financial Officer and executive management to support informed decision-making, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field, Masters or MBA a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • 15 plus years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Commercial and Global accounting experience preferred.
  • Relevant experience in biotech is highly desired.
  • Management experience required.
  • Excellent business acumen.
  • Outstanding communication skills and proven success in communicating effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing accounting and finance policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the financial reporting process and ensure that the financial information included in SEC filings, such as 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and other regulatory documents, is accurate, compliant, and in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the CFO, legal team, and external auditors to gather and validate financial data, draft disclosures, coordinate and support internal and external audits, and ensure timely submission of filings.
  • Safeguard assets by developing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Oversee operations of the accounting department transactions and publish timely internal and external financial statements.
  • Collaborate with Director of Financial Planning on annual budget process and quarterly reforecasting.
  • Continue to build the accounting organization and develop staff to support accounting and finance operations as Company progresses toward commercialization.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements as it relates to preparing and reporting company financials.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as requested.
