About The Position

Seeq is seeking an engineering leader with a proven track record of managing technical teams and taking them to the next level. This position will lead the end-user facing squads, roughly half the engineering team, and expand our engineering capacity as we continue to grow our customer base and market aspirations. Seeq makes data analytics software for industrial process data, serving markets like pharmaceutical manufacturers, wind farms, and energy companies. Our software engineers tackle complex problems in streaming calculation, storage, and distributed computing, utilizing technologies such as Java, Kotlin, React, Python, and Kubernetes. The company believes AI is an exciting revolution in developer tooling and features for customers, while also presenting challenges in human-computer interaction. Seeq was founded as a 100% remote company over 13 years ago, fostering a global team with core hours from 8 am to 12 pm Pacific. They utilize agile tenets, including Scrumban, for product and process iteration. The technology stack includes JVM languages (Java, Kotlin), Python, TypeScript/React, and C#/.NET, with a calculation engine for time-series data and a Kubernetes-based SaaS architecture across AWS and Azure.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on technical leadership with current skills and knowledge.
  • Experience in distributed computing.
  • Deep knowledge of the cloud ecosystem.
  • Deep experience and knowledge of enterprise software development lifecycles, including Agile methodologies (Scrumban), CI/CD pipelines, discovery, design, quality assurance, and support.
  • Inspiring, humble, empathetic, and compassionate leadership style.
  • Ability to listen well and be transparent with thinking.
  • Ability to influence without relying on hierarchy or authority.
  • Skilled as a mentor and coach, providing clear guidance.
