About the position
Proton is seeking an experienced VP of Engineering to join their fast-growing SaaS team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be responsible for driving roadmap definition and execution to improve the product for customers. The ideal candidate will have a track record of leading and scaling engineering teams, with the opportunity to have a direct impact on the growth and expansion of Proton as they disrupt the distribution market. This role will be based in Boston with a hybrid schedule and will involve providing technical leadership, optimizing engineering processes, and collaborating cross-functionally to align engineering resources with business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team
- Collaborate with the engineering team to fuel product development and innovation
- Set the technical direction, design, and oversee the development process
- Ensure the quality and reliability of the product
- Optimize and drive efficiency in the engineering organization
- Ensure visibility and predictability around engineering processes and systems
- Measure code quality and workflow efficiency across the organization
- Develop plans for improvements based on identified metrics and KPIs
- Understand customer needs, collect feedback, and convey product features
- Regularly engage with sales, customer success calls, in-person sessions, and user research
- Work closely with the Executive team to define product roadmaps
- Align engineering resources with business priorities
- Be a proactive, customer-centric leader
- Have experience in an early-stage SaaS startup environment
Requirements
