CORE VALUES: Positive Attitude Always Learning Results Through Accountability Building Relationships JOB SUMMARY/ACCOUNTIBILITY: Under the vision and strategic direction of the CEO, the Vice-President of Development and Marketing is responsible for the planning, promoting, directing, controlling, coordination and evaluation of a broad-based fund development and marketing program for the agency. The director will work in close partnership with the CEO to develop and implement strategic and tactical communication plans designed to capitalize on market opportunities and generate increase grant funding as well as non-restricted revenue for the agency. The VP of Development and Marketing will lead and enhance an integrated, creative marketing team that builds brand awareness and reputation which feeds into enhanced funding opportunities through brand awareness and public recognition of the value Matrix brings to the community. The Vice-President of Development & Marketing is a key contributor to the Executive Leadership Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or other related field
  • Five (5) years fund development and marketing experience in a non-profit, foundation, corporate philanthrophy, or similar environment is desired but not necessary.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with high attention to detail and quality.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with, and provide coaching to all levels of the organization. Influential and confident, yet warm and approachable.
  • Planning, organizing, directing and controlling events and special projects.
  • Speaking and writing clearly and persuasively.
  • Manage PR effort with press contacts, PR firm, and in social media such as Twitter or Facebook.
  • Team building and internal staff communications including the regular newsletter.
  • Collaborating in an interdisciplinary and diverse environment.
  • Proficient in utilizing the Internet, Raiser’s Edge, Word, Excel and PowerPoint technology

Responsibilities

  • Compose, implement and evaluate annual fund development and marketing plans consistent with the goals and objectives of the overall strategic plan.
  • Manage all aspects of private and corporate fund raising including annual fund, major gift and capital campaigns.
  • Direct public relations activities with the press and in social media both externally and internally within the organization.
  • Develop and maintain media contacts.
  • Actively participate and network with various organizations in the metro area to promote Matrix.
  • Ensure improvement of donor database to enhance donor information, increase gifts and provide reports for analysis.
  • Work with Board members and other volunteers to identify and solicit major donor, foundation and corporate prospects.
  • Plan and develop all marketing materials including signage, monthly newsletter, and annual report and program brochures.
  • Supervise and evaluate members of the Fund Development and Marketing staff.
