About The Position

The Vice President for Mission Integration is a ministerial position reporting to the Senior Vice President of Mission and Ethics. This role works with the local Senior leadership team to support broad strategic and organizational commitment to our Catholic Identity, Philosophy, Mission & Values. As a public and active service done on behalf of the Catholic Church in Jesus’ name, this role ensures the full integration of Catholic ministry identity in all aspects of strategic and operational activities. This position also participates as a member of the local executive team and oversees mission services, spiritual care, and other departments as defined by the local president/CEO. With 11 ministries and access points across Indiana, Franciscan Health is one of the largest Catholic health care systems in the Midwest. Requirements

  • An active practicing Catholic in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • Masters Degree - Required
  • 5 years Managerial Experience - Required

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years Mission and Ministry experience - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Mission Integration by assisting in the development and implementation of programs, which integrate the Catholic Identity, Philosophy, Mission, and Values in the organization’s culture, and by developing specific performance criteria for periodic assessment.
  • Assesse and evaluate mission and values integration across all operational areas, including planning, budgeting, decision-making, and other organizational functions.
  • Participate in strategic planning and the development of annual goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Communicate with the local Bishop and diocese.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of formation programs for our coworkers by continually educating individuals on the Catholic Identity, Philosophy, Mission, and Values.
  • Assist local leadership in building a culture of reverence for the human person that helps each coworker integrate our Mission and Values into their work and how they engage with patients and coworkers.
  • Oversee the Mission Services Departments throughout the division.
  • Oversee the Spiritual Care Services
  • Partner with Ethics to support the ethical discernment process.
  • Promote the Catholic Church’s teachings and facilitates discussion on issues related to compliance with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Ethical & Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare Services.
  • Facilitate and reinforce, through business processes and performance measures, a mindset for excellence to reduce unnecessary variation, improve clinical outcomes, and reduce costs.
  • Work with finance in the preparation of the annual budget for the respective division.
  • Manage budgets and costs through the responsible use of planning and control systems, including consideration of forecast levels of operations, cost-effective resource utilization, and realistic financial variances.
  • Monitor the overall financial performance of the division and assigns accountability for budget management to direct reports as appropriate.
  • Participate in Mission HR Committee of the Divisional Board, Ethics Committees, Corporate Executive Leadership Committee, Local executive team and other internal and external boards or committees as needed.
