About The Position

The VP of IT Strategy & Transformation serves as an executive leader aligning business strategy with technology execution across North America. This role defines, operationalizes, and evolves the three-year IT strategy, translating enterprise priorities into actionable, value-driven execution plans. As a key strategic advisor to the CIO and executive leadership team, this role drives cross-functional alignment, resolves systemic operational challenges, and leverages data-driven insights to maximize technology investment returns across all business units. The position bridges executive stakeholders, vendor partners, and delivery teams, building a high-performing technology portfolio that enhances agility, supports scalable growth, and delivers measurable business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, or Engineering; MBA or advanced degree highly preferred. Equivalent experience also considered.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in IT Strategy, Management Consulting, or Portfolio Operations.
  • 7+ years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing significant departmental budgets.
  • A track record of leading large-scale digital transformations or pivot-points within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to move emerging technologies (e.g., Generative AI, Edge Computing) from pilot to enterprise-grade, scaled solutions.
  • Adept at navigating high-stakes ELT discussions to convert technical roadmaps into quantifiable business outcomes such as Revenue, EBITDA, and Market Share.
  • Exceptional ability to distill disparate business requirements into a cohesive, multi-year technology blueprint that addresses enterprise-wide needs.
  • Professional discipline in identifying redundant initiatives and decommissioning underperforming projects to reallocate resources toward high-growth imperatives.
  • Expertise in evolving traditional PMOs into lean, value-driven governance models that enhance speed-to-market while maintaining rigorous compliance.
  • Strategic oversight of "Big Tech" partnerships (Microsoft, SAP, Salesforce) and boutique consultancies to ensure operational performance and cost-efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an authoritative strategic partner in executive decision-making, driving cross-functional problem-solving across complex business, technical, and commercial ecosystems.
  • Align regional and global technology teams across North American business units to foster operational synergy, consistency, and streamlined execution.
  • Lead enterprise vendor strategy and high-stakes commercial negotiations while managing total cost of ownership (TCO) and budget governance across technology portfolios.
  • Synthesize inputs across Corporate Systems, Infrastructure, and Application Development to construct and govern a unified three-year IT roadmap.
  • Oversee portfolio dependencies, program sequencing, and resource allocation across teams to maximize delivery capacity and strategic impact.
  • Develop board-level communications, executive briefing materials, and market trend analyses to inform corporate strategy and champion key technology initiatives.
  • Define and evolve the IT Operating Model to accelerate speed-to-market, mature Agile practices, and establish adaptive governance frameworks.
  • Direct the IT Business Partnering function across North American business units to ensure technology leadership is embedded as an active co-creator of business strategy.
  • Partner with Procurement to maintain an enterprise IT vendor strategy, driving partner performance and alignment with scaling and ROI targets.
  • Oversee the IT CapEx and OpEx budgets, optimizing sourcing strategies and leveraging key strategic partnerships to maximize enterprise value.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to drive change orchestration, user adoption, and proficiency to realize expected investment outcomes.
  • Direct the Enterprise PMO and portfolio governance to deliver financial transparency, disciplined program execution, and post-implementation ROI measurement.
  • Establish a structured demand-shaping framework to guide executive leadership trade-off discussions and ensure IT resources focus on high-value business priorities.
