About The Position

The Vice-President of Infusion Services is responsible for all the technical, operational, and administrative processes of infusion services operations, to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations, as well as maximizing profits. This position will provide a clear, descriptive vision of the company’s mission and commitment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Pharmacy or PharmD graduate.
  • Current Maine Registered Pharmacist License.
  • Proven leadership ability, personnel management skills, and team-building skills including the ability to motivate employees.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of pharmacy, home medical, and home infusion services by virtue of direct experience to assist in the marketing efforts of KPHC services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee infusion operations, inventory control, record maintenance, inspections/audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and annually review pharmacy policies, procedures, goals, and objectives in compliance with Maine State Board of Pharmacy regulations, State and Federal regulations, USP <797>, USP <800>, and KPHC standards.
  • Ensure SOPs for the preparation of CSPs are appropriate, implemented, and maintained.
  • Evaluate departmental operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, quality of service, and positive referral source relationships.
  • Develop and manage pharmacy budgets, cost controls, purchasing activities, and inventory levels to support operational and customer needs.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints and operational concerns.
  • Lead marketing and business development initiatives to expand services, increase market share, and strengthen industry competitiveness.
  • Provide leadership in organizational performance improvement initiatives and encourage employee participation in quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain active involvement with state and national professional associations to stay informed of industry standards, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Oversee prescription preparation and dispensing, including compounded, parenteral, enteral, and chemotherapy therapies.
  • Provide clinical consultation related to IV therapies, dosage calculations, nutritional support, pharmacokinetics, and drug information.
  • Supervise staff and assists customers with medication, equipment, and supply needs in person and by telephone as needed.
  • Coordinates patient admissions and collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, home health agencies, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
  • Develop access to clinical consultation resources when care needs extend beyond nursing scope of practice.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practices, professional techniques, technological advancements, and industry standards.
  • Provide regular operational updates to the Senior Vice-President and assume leadership responsibilities in their absence.
  • Clearly understands the purpose of, as well as participates in the Improvement Organization Performance program.
  • Take responsibility for self-protection while working in hazardous situations, and practices universal precautions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and rights.
  • Develop relationships with colleagues that are collaborative, respectful, productive, and supportive.
