About The Position

The VP Head of Executive Compensation is considered a critical role on the Takeda Total Rewards team. The Vice President of Global Executive Compensation will lead the overall design, implementation, and communication of Takeda’s executive compensation and equity programs. This individual will lead the development of interactions with the Board, Shareholders, Executives, Trustees, and oversight bodies for all executive compensation and equity program related matters. They will develop materials for Compensation Committee review and discussion, as well as manage other strategic aspects of executive compensation and equity design and management. In this complex, global company with deep Japanese roots, this leader will work with finance, legal and global compensation to oversee Japanese equity program administration, including being responsible for the administration and management of the Japanese based annual equity programs for both internal/external directors and Japanese based executives and employees. Key responsibilities include thought leadership and execution of executive compensation, leveling senior executive roles, ownership of senior executive population including contracts, executive benefits and other executive perquisites, regulatory disclosures and global Compensation regulation compliance, and overall strategy and design of the executive compensation programs and practices. The successful placement will be well-versed in all technical aspects of executive compensation in a global company. They will bring a strong understanding of the finance and accounting impact of compensation plan design. Stylistically, they will be low-ego, both hands-on and strategic, and work with agility across time zones and cultures. This leader will be a critical decision maker and culture carrier in a collaborative, supportive and highly responsive culture. Excellent analytical and modeling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall design, implementation, and communication of Takeda’s executive compensation and equity programs.
  • Lead the development of interactions with the Board, Shareholders, Executives, Trustees, and oversight bodies for all executive compensation and equity program related matters.
  • Develop materials for Compensation Committee review and discussion.
  • Manage other strategic aspects of executive compensation and equity design and management.
  • Oversee Japanese equity program administration, including being responsible for the administration and management of the Japanese based annual equity programs for both internal/external directors and Japanese based executives and employees.
  • Provide thought leadership and execution of executive compensation.
  • Level senior executive roles.
  • Own the senior executive population including contracts, executive benefits and other executive perquisites.
  • Manage regulatory disclosures and global Compensation regulation compliance.
  • Oversee the overall strategy and design of the executive compensation programs and practices.
