About The Position

The role of Director of IT Portfolio and Delivery involves managing the delivery of technology solutions that align with the Bank’s strategic goals. This position requires focus on overseeing the software development lifecycle, ensuring that product delivery is efficient and meets the needs of both the organization and its clients. A key aspect of this role is to further develop and evolve the department’s solution delivery lifecycle, which encompasses intake, product management, operations, and value measurement. This approach ensures that the delivery process is comprehensive and adds value to the end consumers of the solution. Additionally, this role works on maturing and scaling technology product ownership within the organization. This involves creating a culture of trust and empowerment among product owners, aligning them with the operational needs. By focusing on core capabilities and proper alignment, the role ensures that product delivery, by way of technology, is effective and responsive to the changing demands of the market.

Requirements

  • University degree in the field of business, computer science required, or 7+ years related work experience.
  • Must have a minimum 5-7 years (VP level) or minimum 7-10 years (FVP level) in IT portfolio management at a financial institution.
  • Management experience required.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings with senior stakeholders, particularly cross-functional portfolio steering or investment committees.
  • Experience of working with audit and regulatory matters related to technology.
  • Expertise with project, program, and portfolio management tools.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and build consensus among diverse technical and business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the portfolio objectives, inspire and motivate diverse team members and maintain alignment with business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio(s) of technology driven projects, programs, and/or digital products, ensuring alignment with strategy and maximum delivery of value and benefits.
  • Serve as the primary liaison and communicator to key executive sponsors and stakeholders. Reports on the performance of initiatives within the portfolio and takes responsibility for the outcomes of the implementation.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the portfolio. Determine the portfolio's short — and long-term roadmaps with IT and business leaders and adjust as priorities change.
  • Identify and manage risks that may impact the portfolio and develop corresponding mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of different methodologies and frameworks within the portfolio.
  • Collaborate across business and technology functions to monitor dependencies and provide centralized visibility across initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, champion change and identify opportunities for efficiency gains and innovation.
  • Serve as vendor liaison and adheres to vendor management practices.
  • Serve as point of contact on audit and regulatory matters related to the project managed within the portfolio.
  • Manage and provide guidance to the team including writing annual performance evaluations and providing balanced feedback.
