VP, Full Stack Engineer (Backend/Python Focus)

About The Position
You will design, build, and support applications that drive risk analysis and decision-making. In this role, you develop full-stack solutions using Python and React, deployed on Azure. Your work turns business needs into reliable, production-ready systems. You also help improve system reliability, shape technical direction, and support the growth of others on the team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development with Python
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience building applications with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
- Experience building user interfaces using JavaScript, including React
- Experience writing SQL queries and performing data analysis tasks
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including App Service, Functions, Containers, and Storage
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
- Experience using GitHub, VS Code, and modern development environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document decisions and collaborate across teams
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Azure Databricks, including PySpark, Delta Lake, and data workflows
- Knowledge of risk management or financial services
- Familiarity with monitoring and tracing practices such as OpenTelemetry
- Experience using AI tools in the development process
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable web applications using Python frameworks such as Django and front-end tools like React
- Design and develop APIs and backend services that support data-driven use cases
- Deploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure, including App Service, Functions, Containers, Storage, SQL, and Databricks
- Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing using tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights
- Improve application performance, reliability, and security across the stack
- Lead incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis to resolve issues and prevent recurrence
- Automate build, test, and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
- Mentor engineers and contribute to consistent engineering practices
